Hope its just not me..

I was running CR 0.9.136 till today without any glitches. Made no change to my system. Simply downloaded 0.9.137 and installed it atop the old one (as I always do). The downloaded file was the fixed one (as the one released during the first hour was buggy).

Now, ComicRack crashes a few seconds after it opens. Either it is stuck at the donation dialog, or if I quickly manage to skip the dialog, it crashes.

I tried running with the -ssc switch, but the script output box also crashes.

As mentioned on the download page, I have downloaded the last (fixed) version. It seems to be a major release, and I feel bad for me that I am not able to use it. :(

If anyone else is having the same problem, please post it here..

I thought i was the only one with this problem.
I can't even get past the splash screen before it crashes.
Also using the fixed version of 0.9.137.

For the time being, I have reverted back to CR 0.9.136, & it is working fine. So, this is a genuine bug.

Did you try to start a new/empty test configuration with "ComicRack.exe -ac bugtest"?

Does it work when removing/renaming the script folder (so ComicRack runs without any scripts)?

Does it work when disabling query caching and/or backup query update in comicrack.ini?

Also worth a try should be updating your machine to the latest dotnet framework.

The problem is that I do not get any crash reports from this error. It seems to work for some people, so there is clearly some machine os/dependency at work here. So it would also help greatly if you guys could submit your OS version here.

win7 x64 working fine.

-however-

i did get a crash when i had a second machine on my lan set to automatically connect to shared libraries, if the second machine was on and comicrack running on it while i started the "server" comicrack. Then the server comicrack would crash during start up (something about a non-initialized object complaint, didnt record it :| )

fK

Yes.. I agree. I tried it at my old laptop, and it was working fine there.
All my OS are Windows 7, 32 bit.

YEs.. it is working fine with "ComicRack.exe -ac bugtest". (and it is looking good too!)
cYo wrote:

No.. it is still not working even after removing the Scripts folder. As you can see on the toolbar, there are no script shortcuts.

cYo wrote:

No.. I changed both the settings, but it is still crashing.

First, how do I do it? Second, I don't think that is the problem, because 0.9.137 is working on my old laptop that has not been updated for ages , because it does not have an internet connection.

@cYo: Please tell me what else I can do to help bugfix this? Is there someway to generate a crash report with CR crashing on?

I am very sad today.. :(

you need to remove the ';' to make the settings work

Also, check the Windows event log. It might give a more verbose explanation of the crash and give cYo a little more to go on.

Right after you try to launch ComicRack and it crashes, click the Start button, in the Search box, type "Event Viewer", and then, in the list of results, click Event Viewer.

You want to go in to "Windows Logs", then in to "Application" and the ComicRack application error record should be near the top.

137 seems to work fine on both machines I've tested one. Both are Windows 7x64, one Ultimate, the other, Enterprise.
