So I MAY have an idea of what this is.

Most of my collection is on 3 external USB HDs with new adds on my C drive.

I'm wondering if once those drives go into sleep mode (from lack of activity) and CR tried to access that sleeping drive, something goes wrong while it wakes up? Maybe something changed since .157 regarding this, as .157 down is rock solid.

The "greasing" of a file by the scraper also lends itself to this theory.

My files are on a networked NAS, and new files are on a networked pc drive so we have that in common. Question is what was changed after 157 that could be causing the crashing? Also, I may have stated this before, but the majority of my crashes occur when I am viewing files from a smart list, especially those on the duplicate file list. ie open a file from the duplicate smart list, comicrack crashes.

Just wanted to chime in that I'm still having this problem after upgrading to .165 today. The crash message I just got is:

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: CLR20r3
Problem Signature 01: comicrack.exe
Problem Signature 02: 0.0.0.0
Problem Signature 03: 5159d60c
Problem Signature 04: cYo.Common
Problem Signature 05: 1.0.4839.35426
Problem Signature 06: 5159d4b4
Problem Signature 07: c96
Problem Signature 08: 119
Problem Signature 09: System.AccessViolationException
OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3
Locale ID: 1033

As before, all I was doing when this happened (twice in the past five minutes) is open up a comic, Ctrl-E to the last page, and then scroll-wheel up to the second to last page of a comic. It worked for ten comics in a row the first time before crashing. The next time I only made it through 6 comics before this happened (on a completely different comic).

You can try one of the new Engines for CBZ/CBR.
See ComicRack.ini and the ...Uses Settings.
Maybe it helps.

When it happened today (all 6-7 times) I was going through low-res, small filesize black and white manga, so I don't think the resolution is it.

Okay, I have two more things to add to this.

First off, it has occurred to me that the same time that I've been having this problem, I've also seen a large uptick in the reader pane not displaying pages correctly when I turn from page to page. See the attached screenshot. When this happens, I have to scroll up or down to a different page and then come back before the page displays correctly.

Because of this, I was going through my preferences another time, and I noticed that my disk cache for thumbnails and pages (500 MB in both cases) were both nearly full. I purged the cache and then cycled the application. Afterwords, I opened up 3 or 4 comics and used the scroll wheel to page through them each several times from front to back to front with no issues. But eventually there was a crash.

I'll try playing with the Engines next

UPDATE: .168 still exhibits this behavior. I haven't had a chance to try the new archive engines, but when I do, if any fix this problem, I'll update this thread.
