I would like to request a script that automatically populates teh "Published" field for my fileless comics.

Idea:
Select 100 comics, launch script, identify as "Monthly" and give start month for #1 - shazam! all comics now have "published" date.
I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!!

I think I can write this but wouldn't it be easier to use the ComicVine scraper?

It's going to be used for my collection of Italian comics, they're not on ComicVine (or any other online db I've found, for that matter)

Why limit to the 'published' field then ? Why not an "ofline" comicvine scraper like of script, where the user himself selects the relevant details for fileless comic series and gets the job done without scraping them. Limited in use, but may came in handy when you make a big series, and for reasons (like that of our li'l kenji here ;) ), don't want to (or are not able to) use the scraper..

What say Stoney.. ?

Edit: Got the thought after writing the post.
@kenji: why don't you simply use the Multiple comics Info dialog after making the fileless entries ? :P

I already have the fileless entries created, now I'm just trying to make it "prettier" by adding covers (see post here
comicrack.cyolito.com/forum/13-scripts/1...o-fileless-as-covers
and entering a few details such as titles, etc)

Actually the entire problem is that your comics are not there on the comicvine database, otherwise the scraper would've done all his work in a jiffy. Let us see if Stoney gives you your 'offline' scraper !

Stonepaw, you're a star!!

Works like a charm. Only thing I noticed is a typo in the "Automation" menu, it shows as "auto fill publisher" - but I fixed that, and might be on my way to understanding how scripts work (if I'm given a working one, that is :P )

Anyhow, thanks again for the great work!!

Agreed on both counts :)

Yes, the script is good. Stoney bags another +1 karma!

Can we also get 0.5 months (for books published every 15 days)?
