Hello,
I am back with a new plugin. It's called Antiquariat and it offers partial support for using ComicRack with unsupported file extensions.

This script is using web services offered for free by openlibrary.org and isbndb.com.

Download link:

www.multiupload.com/E90S12XKNT

Also, I made a short video tutorial, available at:

File Attachment:

File Name: Antiquariat.crplugin
File Size:26 KB

Thank you

Looks very interesting, repan. I'll give it a spin. This might solve quite a few problems I've had adding my italian comics (as there is no scraper, or DB, for that matter, for italian releases).
Great job!
I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!!

Hi, 600, how did you do this...?

I was wondering if this script (or a mod from it) could this be used to just create fileless comics from jpgs and use the given jpg as cover... (no scraping or anything, that would be handled by CVS)?

Thank you very much for an incredibly useful mod for CR. It expands the program in ways comparable to ComicVineScraper, by giving it more file formats (which it should already support natively).

Thanks,
fK

Right, so far, it all seems to work for my "little experiment"
First, a map of the problematique (I hope someone gets the reference)

I have approx 300 italian comics, no online db for covers, etc.
So, I decided to catalogue them using the fileless comics feature in CR.
That sorted the "have/need" - but a bunch of "???" was kinda boring to look at.

So, I decided to try another approach with this script.

Luckily, I found that the publisher's website has all the covers stored. So, I used firefusk (an addon that will allow you to download all images from a domain that follow the same name format - ie DD001, DD002, DD003)
So, covers downloaded, I used Antiquariat (added .jpg) to the extensions list and scanned the folder with the images.
Voil√° - fileless comics with the covers. Now, just edit the metadata via scripts, etc...
First of all, autonumber wizard. Then I ran this:
comicrack.cyolito.com/forum/13-scripts/1...ll-qpublishedq-field
and populated the "published" field

Pretty cool way to sort out my "unscrapable" comics..
Thanks again for an awesome script - even though I may not be taking full advantage of the "intended" use just yet :)

The answer to both your queries is the same..;)
  1. Put all your jpgs in one folder
  2. Add the folder to Antiquariat
  3. Scan
  4. Your jpgs are in the library, which treats them as fileless comics (so no need to first make fileless & then use jpg as cover)
  5. Drag reize slider to maximum, so that you get a good view of the jpg
  6. Add basic info & then scrape
  7. Make a smart list for quick access
  8. Thank repan ! B)
Here is a demo:

like it ?! ;)

I've been wanting to catalogue my Dylan Dog and Rat-Man for a while, but ComicVine doesn't hold them, so this little workaround gets the job done real nice :)
