The script is coming up really nice..Just tested v0.7 and all seems well!

I feel that this is a script that asks for a lot of confidence and trust in it from the user to let it work. A minor problem is that it takes away some of my settings (for instance, the dupes path) everytime I update. This could discourage users from updating!

As most of the initial hiccups have been dealt with, I would request these 3 things:

1. GUI for the script (first priority really).

2. An option (interactive mode?) where the script, prior to moving each comic, asks for confirmation: "Do you wish to move the duplicate "Comic #123 (c2c) (scanner-so&so)"?

3. Improve/modify/change the unclear small icon that resides in the script quick launch portion of the browser toolbar:

Unfortunately, no luck. :( I reinstalled to no avail, a few times actually. Getting the same errors. When it flags me that I'm missing the linecache module that you provided, and I add it to ComicRack, I then get an error saying I'm missing the OS module.

Thanks for following up, perezmu. If you don't have any ideas, no sweat. Next time I do a clean install of ComicRack, I'll give it another go round.

Thanks for all your hard work. :D

Hi I'm brand new to comic rack, but already love your script. I have a feature request that shouldn't be too much. It would be awesome to add a rule pagesize, that is filesize/pages, in other-words the average size of each page. I prefer no adds, but am not willing to sacrifice too much quality for this, so a keep pagesize 25% rule would be awesome.

I'm amazed by the short period between my suggestion and your update. Even keeping the wiki seamlessly updated. For what its worth my rules look like this now:

pagesize keep largest 20%
pagecount keep noads
pagesize keep largest
keep first

thanks!

See if you like any of these:

I suggest you keep both pngs (duplicatesmanager & duplicatesmanager_small) as 32x32.

Here is the zip file with all the icons:

Something of note and a warning of sorts. I was cleaning up some duplicates recently, one jumped specifically a 19M and a 36M version of "Hack / Slash - Suicide Girls Annual". I discovered the 19M version, while slight less sharp on the text, was a vastly better scan than the 36M version.

The 36M version, while slightly sharper, was very dark and a lot of detail was lost in darker scenes. I had a similar issue with "Hack / Slash - The Final Revenge of Evil Ernie" except it was opposite. The larger file, over 10M bigger than the duplicate, was over saturated and a lot of details lost in the bight scenes.

Bigger file does not always mean better quality. Personally, I think such a tool is great for IDing dups, but will always do the final compare by eye.
