When Then is a portable application for Windows which monitors user-specified programs and processes to perform an action when they reach a certain state. It is a great tool for automating tasks so that a specific process can be immediately initiated, stopped, etc in response to actions performed by other processes and applications.
For example:

When selected Process ends (e.g. Firefox.exe), display message (e.g. Browser closed).
When selected Application (e.g.Chrome) stops, start External file (e.g. uTorrent.exe).
When selected process, application, or timeframe is reached, Shutdown Windows.

I would wish to request a script on the same lines for ComicRack.

This would be useful in a lot of repetitive scenarios, like:
  • When a file is added to the 'Add Scan Info' list, run the 'Add scan info' script
  • When a file is added to the 'Convert CBR to CBZ' list, run the 'export to CBZ' command
  • When a file is added to the 'Cover only' list, move the file to the folder C:\AnyPath
  • When a file is added to the 'Delete me' list, delete the file
I feel that this would be a great companion to the excellent Library Organizer...

Any of our talented developers have an opinion on this..?

Good idea.

Unfortunately I don't think this is currently possible since as far as I know scripts can't hook into most of those triggers.

Depending on how much you don't want to do this manually every time you add new books, and only when you need to add new titles to the list, you could maybe even right a script that auto-starts every time you start ComicRack and it puts that new Genre value to every book in those titles that don't already have it. The script could store the list of titles in a simple config text file. This was is a more work up front, though it saves a few more manual steps down the road.

@Stonepaw: Can we trigger certain events on startup?

That's certainly a good thing for us!

I know I have already bugged you enough in the past  but would it be possible for you to think about a 'if-this-then-that' kind of script that would make possible what oracle says above?
