And so I think that adding this functionality on Webcomic Helper's next version will be really be nice and usefull. May be by putting a new selection at the beginning of the wizard where you can select a "Create several webcomics from an comic indexed chapters page", and you can afterwards continue on the browse or index type of url parts, which will create each of the cbw internals.
This is a good suggestion! :)

Thanks for all the work on this. It's a great tool and I agree, should be packaged with the base install package.

I've noted that the site Sluggy Freelance doesn't work, as it doesn't have an image URL for the next page, and the Text for the next page doesn't work either.

URL: www.sluggy.com/
First Page: www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/970825
First Page Image: www.sluggy.com/images/comics/970825a.gif
Second Page: www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/970826

Thanks for all the work guys! We appreciate it!

Groo

Just wanted to pop in and say thanks for this awesome plugin. I don't read a lot of webcomics but this has worked on all the ones I do.

Hi, I'm new to Comicrack and would just like to say great job on the Webcomic Helper! Works like a charm :)

Edit: Okay, just found a comic it doesn't work with: dilbert.com/strips/comic/

I've searched the forums and read the wiki (though it's way over my head) without finding a solution. :S

I'm re-reading Dilbert from the beginning again and I thought it would be a lot easier if I could do it via Comicrack. Any help getting this working would be appreciated (last time I did any programming we were still using punch cards :P ).

You can load the comic from Gocomics.com.
Request webcomics on IRC: http://widget.mibbit.com/?server=irc.rizon.net&channel=%23comicrack
server: irc.rizon.net
channel: #comicrack
Or in the webcomics subforum: http://comicrack.cyolito.com/forum/22-web-comics

Just wanted to say thanks. I just started playing with this.

I did find one I couldn't get to work, but I may be doing something wrong.

Romantically Apocalyptic

Hmm this post says they got it working so I must be doing something wrong 19547

I just tried this, and it works brilliantly!

Is there an option to have have it go grab all the comic pages and store them locally? (I was thinkign that would be nice to send over to my smartphone, and the android version of comic rack.)

Thanks for the suggestion but I already tried that, it just sends me straight back to the Dilbert.com website.

@Brennok

I see why it's not working. I'll see if I can think up a way to fix that.

In the meantime I've attached a cbw of Romantically Apocalyptic.

@Gareee

You can export any webcomic to a cbz file. See the bottom of page 140 of the ComicRack Manual.

@Valis

I also see why Dilbert is not working. Complications involving very slightly differently named versions of the same comic causes it to think the regex is wrong.

I've attached a cbw for it. I've only set it up for the last month when I was testing so you may want to change the start date. Just open the cbw with notepad or similar program and change
<Image Url="?http://dilbert.com/strips/comic/2012-02-01/">
with your desired start comic. Be sure to keep the question mark.
