Has anyone created a script that generates a smartlist based on a series name? I would also like to know if one exists that also makes generates a smartlist based on series name and volume.

There is a drag and drop function built in, which can create smatrlists based on series name.
Check out cYo's video here to see how it works

kenjio - Thanks for the response, I have been using the method in the video since it was released, but I have over 1,000 series and was hoping there was someone who was/has making/made a script to automate the process. Dragging the whole series group does not create lists for each series and I was hoping there was a method that would save me the time of doing each one manually and then manually updating each one for the volume (1,000 series with some that have multiple volumes would be 2,000+ manual operations :S ).

I see. Yes, it would be tedious to do this for so many series. I'm sure it has been discussed before, but nothing came of it.

The video doesn't mention that you need to press the ALT key before dropping the book into a folder. Otherwise it will just make a regular list.

To make smartlist...

1. Drag comic
2. Press ALT key
3. Drop comic

It took me some searching to figure it out. Thanks for the video.
