Sorry for the late reply.

I tried out the one you posted but it doesn't work on DCP, Minutemen or [ ] and only works on the last one. I tried it with:

GreenGiant-DCP
Minutemen-Fiji
[Franky]
Amazing Spider-Man 596Greeny

Only the last one worked.

Does the script use .NET regular expression classes or Python classes? If it uses Python classes, then atomic groups are not supported (look-aheads and look-behinds) which would be why the expression I posted does not work properly.

Well, this doesn't seem to work for me.

I am using toolbox v0.4. To add scanner tag, I right-click a cbz file > automation > scanner tags from filename.

Then I click getinfo, but nothing is there either in the tags section or in the notes section.

In some cases, I do get a rather odd-looking tag. e.g. I tried it on Green Lantern Corps_GreenGiant_DCP. The tag I got was "Scanner:Green_Lantern_Corps_042__2010___GreenGiant".

Now, am I doing it wrong, or do we need more refinements in the script ?

This is overall a good idea, but I feel that the naming pattern of cbr/cbz files is not that standardised. Maybe that is a problem?

Still, can't we simply add a form field titled "Scanner" in the Info tab in the next version of comicrack ? cYo, you there mate? ;)

There was a expanded/fixed scanner tags from file name script posted a page or two ago, but I didn't find that it worked for most of my files.

I have attached my personal variation which has been able to catch almost everything I have thrown at it with very few errors (sometimes it adds a _ on the end). It might not catch the example you posted since it depends on the format Name-DCP or Minutemen-Name with practically anything surrounding them.

A separate form field for scanner tags would be wonderful. Good idea!

Can anyone update the 'Scanner Tags from Filename' script to include other groups like Empire, CPS and TheGroup?

You missed the magic words...

Anyway, these scripts are long abandoned and well surpassed by much better ones... Try Scan Information from Filenames

Cheers, and thanks for using these oldies, tough!

I wasn't aware of that.
Thanks for recommending a better script :)

I still use three of the scripts from the Toolbox with a slight tweak made to each.

SaveTagsToNotes - saves all the tags to the notes field. This is because ComicRack doesn’t save the tags into the ComicInfo.xml file.
MY UPDATES - doesn't sort tags in notes alphabetically anymore...I did this because I wanted to retain the structure and order the Tags were in.

RetrieveTagsFromNotes - copies the tags saved into the notes field and put them into the tags field.

ClearTagsInNotes - clear all notes
MY UPDATES - doesn't erase all notes anymore, it now only erases the notes that were added from the "Save Tags to Notes" script.

I can post them here if anyone would like to use them. Just let me know. :)
