Hi
I've a issue with the comicvine scraper (V1.0.91)
I want to scrape the following comic ...\Astonishing X-men 03.cbz

The setting of the scraper are:
- try to choose the correct series automatically

when I then launch the scraper, the scrapers finds the following issue
www.comicvine.com/astonishing-x-men-3-gifted-part-3/4000-90583/
Instead of www.comicvine.com/astonishing-x-men-3-in-excess/4000-40845/

Is there way so that the scraper finds the correct issue.
I thought that the scaper search on similar covers.

thx

Looks like its grabbing another volume. and since you dont have any volume info in your title it doesnt know which volume to grab. I tend to not use that option when scraping. it may take a bit longer to scrape but you know you have everything correct.

Ok, I understand. So I need the volume in the file name.
Which option do you mean?

To clarify, when you do this scrape with the automatic find on, does it check with you first or does it just make the assumption?

I tried to replicate this with a dummy file with the front cover of the book and it does indeed assume the wrong issue but it still gives me the choice which is the correct behaviour. If I then click on the 1995 line it will obviously choose the right book semi-automatically. I note that both covers contain a significant amount of yellow (which may be even more obvious if the file is digital).

Also, if you dont mind changing the name of the file, you can do it quickly from inside Comicrack. Change the volume in the info and then
rightclick>automation>rename files to Series Volume...

You can do this for a whole group of files before you scrape because you can select many at once.

Another thing to note, if you were scraping a whole folder with the same volume you only need to do the semi-automatic process once and the scraper will assume they are all from the same volume after that.

I use the Automatic mode all the time. I trust it implicitly, it's never messed up for me. I also do not modify any info on the comic before scraping.

Unfortunately, due to limitations of the API on Comicvine's end (not the scraper's fault), it only able to examine the "primary" cover on the web database. So if page 1 in your file is one of the alternate covers, the scraper won't recognize it despite it being on the website. It's a limitation of Comicrack's API.

The scraper will always ask you to clarify what issue it is at the end of the scraping run. This typically happens when there's alternate covers in question, or when there's a TPB that shares a similar looking cover to issue 1 of the series (happens a lot). Also, sometimes either your file or the pic in the online database is discolored or worse quality and confuses it as well.

I've never seen it actually confirm a wrong issue.

Hello

All thx for the info
I think that I'll have a lot of manual work to do because of my file-names that are not good.

greetings
