I'm running into this same issue... Did you ever find fix?

You mention here comicrack.cyolito.com/forum/13-scripts/4...cripts-here?start=10

That I could perhaps use this script to repopulate the comicvine_issue field for previously scraped comics

Steps I took...
1) Used the crplugin - It may be that I'm using the wrong version here. I'm a little confused about your naming convention is FindMissingIssuesOffline-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9.crplugin the latest one (ver 2.7). Just checking you've updated the first page of this post with the latest one?
out of interest, what is the logic of that naming convention?

2) I download the mcl file and point the plugin to that when it runs.

It detects the file as unscraped, but the CVCB is in the notes field

In the xml I can see
<Notes>Scraped metadata from ComicVine [CVDB212420].</Notes>

I'm clearly doing something wrong but not quite sure what.

mmmh... I would have to debug it to know where the error could be... are you using the script LAST version?

Also the comics have to be in the database file you are using... (new comics will not work with old mcl files) - this because it will not know the comicvine_volume id to populate without the mcl data

This is amazing. I used in on a library of 80K comics and it worked in seconds. Incredible. Is there a simple way for us to generate new MCL lists?
I am currently reading every Marvel Superhero comic book every printed, in chronological order, and blogging about the milestones, footnotes, and other interesting moments I read at http://www.wraithscomicjourney. I'll be adding DC when I hit 1985, and other companies when they launch.

I do it for myself every month or so, so it is only about remembering to upload it here...

I strongly recommend to download teh tools to make your own databases, it is a bit hard the first time to set it up, but once done once it is really easy to update
