I wonder if the scripting interface allows for following:

For all books in a series, if any field is not field (like genre, tags, ect), check if its filled for all other books in the series.

If there is only one value present in the other books, then fill this into the blank books, too.

(because its tiresome to add all the stuff everytime you enter a new book, especially because its not even possible to show whats in for the other book at teh series at the same time...)

Is that possible using the scripting engine in ComicRack? Sure.

Will someone script this for you? I might but I can't make any promises.

I think such a script could falsefie the nfo-tag if you're not careful because you have fields that are equal and are not (fe artists).
Would be nice for European comics or Manga though.
There a lot of fields remain equal through the years, even with the artists (one, but mostly 2, the writer and penciller).
That's not the case in American comics where i'm always amazed how many people co-operate and how many times there is a change.
It's unthinkable in Europe because there the artist is the inventor and it stays his 'child' thill he pases away.
In my opinion the following trick should be helpful.
This would be for comics that cannot be tagged with Wadegiles script.
For the first issue of the series you fill in all the fields you can.
Then you do 'copy' (CTRL C) on that issue then you select all the other issues (with ctrl or shift) and select 'paste', you get a window 'Paste data' where you can select which fields are the same for the series.
In general for American Comics not the chapter Artists/People Involved :o)

Ah, i should have made it a bit more clear: I couldn't care less about american comics.

So in my case, 99% of all chapters that are added will have identical everything than the rest of the series.

But ok, if its possible to script this, i will take a look at doing it myself when i have time. (I wasnt sure what kind of hooks, ect. are available for scripting)

There are a few tips on this page: FAQs and Infos topic

You can also look at the sample scripts included with ComicRack and in the Scripts forum for lots of examples.
