The title is pretty clear: I'd like to start reading some DC comics, and I was thinking 'bout starting with some Superman comics...Just...where should I start?

Some might say "From the start"... sure, that would be OK i guess, BUT:

I'm not a real 1938s' art lover... And I don't think It would be easy to come by some very old titles.

So I'd like to start with some more recent issues... Something like a "Heroes Reborn" of the DC Universe (if there is any such thing).

So... any ideas?

Thanks :-)

I found this online. It covers everything from the Crisis on Infinite Earths (1985-ish) to Flashpoint (2011). Hope it helps.

A little confusing at first, but fairly complete.

File's too big to attach to this post, so I loaded it here: jb24timeline.pbworks.com/w/file/63723172/Superman.xls

It may not be the most popular suggestion, but tbh new 52, isn't a bad place to jump on - assuming you want to read current stuff anyway. Maybe read flashpoint and then move onto new 52?

Woah...Thanks guys!

The xls is G-R-E-A-T and I think I'll start at Flashpoint, then to 52 and with the help of the XLS file "work" myself back to some storyarcs and issues that inspire me.

I'll let you know how it goes ^^

You should take a look at All-Star Superman, it's a fairly self-contained 12-issue series.

I'm not a big reader of Superman but I saw the animated movie for All-Star Superman and it was fantastic, so I'm sure the book was better. Also, Superman Earth One Vol 1 and 2 are supposed to be amazing as well.

Although, I'm pretty sure none of these are part of the main continuity if that's what you're looking for.

The movie was great, but since it had to fit the story into two hours, it cut out some of the more thoughtful / emotional chapters from the comic.

We do not host comic downloads or provide information on places you can get them; that is against forum policy.

EDIT: Unless they're in the public domain (which obviously these are not)
