Can anyone assist me with this one? I had it working for a while, but then it started crapping out after 90+ strips for 2010. Trying now from www.doonesbury.com/strip/dailydose/index.html
with image file URLS in the form: images.ucomics.com/comics/db/2010/dbYYMMDD.gif |

This is not going to thrill you as answers go, but: I'm having a really similar-sounding problem with my new Gunnerkrigg Court cbw file. It worked fantastic for a little bit -- only missing the most recent strip, which puzzled me -- but (and this may or may not be relevant) after I once set the PageCount in the Info to what the page count should be (i.e. 1 more than it was appearing), it suddenly started only 163 pages. Exactly 163 pages. Remove it, start over, 163 pages.
Is something getting cached somewhere that's not getting purged even on removing the comic from ComicRack? Or, well, heck, I have no idea. 163 pages. Just bizarre. Note that I have two scripts, one that does it the BrowseScraper way, one that does it the IndexScraper way. 163 pages. (And we're talking out of 785ish that should be there.) Here's the meat of the IndexScraper method:
<Images>
<Image Url="!http://www.gunnerkrigg.com/archive.php">
<Parts>
<Part>\t<a href="(?<link>http.*\d+)"</Part>
<Part>http.*\d\d\d\.jpg</Part>
</Parts>
</Image>
</Images>
I don't have the BrowseScraper code I used handy but I could probably reconstruct it. But either way... 163 pages. Anyone? R |

And now, to semi-answer my own question: I prodded my own memory by saying cached, and went and cleared the caches in Preferences->Advanced. At least, I tried to; clicking on Clear for Internet cache appeared to do nothing (v0.9.132) so I temporarily disabled the internet cache instead.
And... it downloaded 163 pages. Sigh. Next trick, I unchecked all caches including the boxes next to "optimize" on the two memory caches. (Since I've been restarting ComicRack periodically, hard to see how it could be a memory cache thing, but who knows.) Aaaaaand... 163 pages. Deleted the comic, restarted ComicRack, recopied in the cbw file, rescanned... 163 pages. I surrender for now. Blah. R |
