From the outside Pleasant Hill looks like a quiet small town (its name even suggests it) but the reality is that it’s all a lie. There’s something sinister lurking in this gated community and it won’t let those who inhabit leave. When this secret is revealed it will force both Captain Americas – Steve Rogers and Sam Wilson, who have not seen eye-to-eye lately – to team up and try and stop this evil in the town as well as the townspeople. Why can’t the townspeople leave also? All I know is it will take more than two Captain America’s to stop them, it will take the combined efforts of the Avengers! Also, how is S.H.I.E.L.D. involved in all of this? You’ll have to read to find out.

Avengers Standoff 2016 from a Comic Book Herald list. It's recommended to first read Captain America: Sam Wilson #1-#6 which leads right into this.

Good luck with this having an order. For such a short crossover it has a number of inconsistencies.

Lol, the Avengers books leading up to this seem like a hot mess to me right now, so I'm not surprised by that. But I'll keep it in mind while I suffer through.

I actually liked the crossover, and it sets up everything in the Captain America arc to where we are now, but it is annoying that such a small crossover can have continuity errors.

I usually like the smaller, contained crossovers to the massive events. So hopefully this is cool. I'd actually like to see Marvel move away from the massive events. Maybe have them every couple of years, with a lot of planning and let one person shepherd the rest of the books to that point and then gradually hand it off to the next person for the next event a few years later. Let the strong books pick up the weaker books with small, easy to digest crossovers that don't include any mini-series and only crossover with a handful of titles. And maybe actually let the group editors direct the books direction, rather than doing whatever it is that editors do anymore. I suspect they spend a tremendous amount of time in meetings being told they need to appeal to 'young people' constantly, and that they better tie the comics into the movies somehow.
