What would be the best way of applying these on Win XP?

According to this page : support.microsoft.com/kb/310192

"You cannot customize the default icon for a folder in Windows; however, you can make a shortcut to a folder and change the look of the shortcut icon."

followed by:

"To make a shortcut to a folder and change the look of the shortcut icon:
Open My Computer and browse to the folder that you want.
Right-click the folder, and then click Create Shortcut. If you are prompted to place the shortcut on the desktop, click Yes.
Right-click the shortcut you created, click Properties, and then click Change Icon.
Click the picture of the icon you would like the shortcut to use, click OK, and then click OK."

My personal favourite is the Deadman icon! :)

I'm running a Single Core 2.8Mhz w/ 512Mb Ram. To say my system is old is an understatement.

Best way to computer shop:

Find a place that sells last year's model (or even a year and a half) without the monitor and mouse etc. You basically just need the tower.

Last year's model will be fine, and you'll save money by not having the latest and by excluding other hardware. Be careful of name brands, name brand does not automatically mean quality; also, just because something doesn't have a name brand doesn't make it useless, but do research before you buy a new brand.

Also, building a computer from scratch is not that difficult. There are guides online for this, and you could buy the components separately as you got them. For real fun, do a search for Aquarium computer: the components that should be placed in a tower are placed in an ordinary aquarium instead, artistically arranged. Obviously with a type of oil instead of water, but it's still clear enough for affect.

I used to build the "latest and greatest" computers until I realized last year's model does just as well and I didn't have time to do all that any more anyway. So I just buy the tower.

@Fuzzyluzzi - I can't believe I find myself saying this about Windows again after so many years of disappointment, but Windows 7 is a great reason to upgrade your system. I'm surprisingly loving Win7, and after having it and this laptop for almost a year now, I can honestly say that Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium is even better than Windows XP Professional.

Once I'm done going through story arc lists I'll start posting my folder icon requests! Be prepared for the onslaught my friend....

4 New 52 titles, huh? Do you know if these 4 will replace an existing 4 titles like the 2nd wave did? Never mind, looks like we're going to be losing the four titles:
  • Captain Atom
  • Justice League International
  • Resurrection Man
  • Voodoo
