May I join in to say, as all the other posters have, what a wonderful resource the updated User Manual is. I've been using ComicRack in hit-or-miss fashion for several months. I'm now going through the manual page by page and learning a lot.

As a way of saying thank you, I am making an extra effort to add data and comics into Comic Vine. I'm not a coder, so can't help there, but I figure improving the Comic Vine database helps out most ComicRack users.

Thanks again to all who worked on the 4th edition of the manual.

Keep up the good work! ;)

The cool thing about ComicVine is that once you've updated enough stuff, they start giving you extra privileges, like the ability to update without waiting for moderators to look at your changes, etc.

Just to bring this point up again:

in the help folder of comicrack is the file "ComicRack Wiki.ini". Maybe some good soul will take this file, copy it to "Online Manual.ini" and adjust the links inside so that they lead to pages in the online manual that have something to do with the gui element. For further info read the readme.txt that is also in the help folder.
To use the new file go to preferences/advanced and select your file.

This way it would be possible to integrate the manual directly into ComicRack.

Just a thought (and because I did implement this feature once  )

Here is the Online Manual.ini file for use with the inbuilt help system:

Please unzip the file and then place the Online Manual.ini file in the help folder in your ComicRack installation directory.

File Attachment:

File Name: Online Manual.zip
File Size:1 KB

Please check it and point out any errors so that I may rectify them..

p.s. cYo, the help system has a lot of potential, but it does not tap the manual completely. Could it be extended beyond simple GUI elements?
Another thing is that the discrepancies in the nomenclature between the wiki and the manual may confuse some users. Please make the manual nomenclature default, by altering the wiki.
