I'll see if I can make it do that. Do you usually cancel with the Escape key, or with the Cancel button?

I tend to use the cancel button.

I've fixed this issue for 1.0.34 (which isn't available quite yet, while I look at a couple of other issues.)

Thanks for the error report. :) The log suggests that your computer is abruptly dropping its connection to ComicVine.com for some reason. Since this doesn't seem to be happening to anyone else, we'll need to figure out what's special about your case.

So I have some questions:

1) Is this still happening, or did it only happen for a while, and then go away? (Maybe some temporary oddness in your connection to ComicVine)?

Assuming it is still happening:

2) Is there anything "weird" about you network setup? Firewalls? Proxies?

3) If you go to api.comicvine.com do you get an error/blank page?

4) If you switch back to 1.0.32, does the problem go away?

It is running fine now.. i guess the net connection was acting a bit jumpy yesterday.. B)

Still, if there is s a fault with the internet, shouldn't the 'comicvine can not be reached..' message appear instead of a crash ?

The answer is no for all 3 questions..

I've had the 'connection randomly dropping out' thing for the last few weeks as well. It always works again right away if I try it again - I think it's just CV timing out.

Yup. I've fixed it so that this should happen if the error you saw comes up again.

Was this happening even before you switched to 1.0.33?

ComicVine's servers are pretty finicky...there's actually a surprising number of connection problems that occur on a semi-regular basis, and a lot of little workarounds in the code to deal with them. The main thing I'm concerned with is if these problems start to become common, or if they start to happen much more frequently from one release to the next (cause that means I did something to make it worse.)

I've added a new unstable version (1.0.34) of Comic Vine Scraper. You can get it here.

The number of bugs and problems reported for the 1.0.33/34 release has been pretty small, so unless something else major comes up, there's a good chance that I'll declare it a stable release next week sometime.

When you start using version 1.0.34, can you keep an eye out for this behavior, and let me know if it seems to be fixed properly? Thanks!
