So here it is at last, ComicRack 0.9.135.

This one brings plenty of new features, enhancements and bug fixes.

The big one is support for Series based columns and smartlists. You can now display and search for values like "Series: Average Community Rating" or "Series: Last Book Added". These are values that are aggregated over complete series and will match all eComics contained in that series. This allows for smart-lists not possible before like: Show me all Series where I did not read all books and the average rating is greater 4.5. For a full list of new values have a look into the change log or play around with smartlists and the new columns available.

You now can set custom thumbnails for stacks. So finally there's some use of all the wonderful icon sets in the user forum.

Pages in eComics can now be marked near(left) or far(right). This is currently used by ComicRack as hints on how to paginate through non cover to cover scans or when you're using the page filter.

Some reworking has been gone into how the tab bar is hidden/displayed in various reading configurations. It should now be more consistent. And it is now possible to turn on/off the file tabbar when the reader is undocked or docking mode is set to fill.

ISBN has been added to the catalog page.

Additionally various enhancements and bug fixes have been added.

As usual, for a full and cryptic list of all the changes read the changelog of the download description. Additionally our very own 600 will describe and rate all the changes as usual in the user forum ;)

as usual,
have fun
Your opinion here :)

==============================================================
* NEW: Added "Random eComic" as new keyboard command (defaults to L)
* NEW: Page count can be edited for fileless entries
* CHANGE: Support for multi line notes in library lists

* CHANGE: Smoother switching/openeing/closing of eComics in fill docking mode
* CHANGE: Proper support for "Marked as Read/Unread" for fileless entries
* CHANGE: Turned off drawing of ratings for stacks with custom thumbnails
* BUGFIX: Possible missing/wrong scrollbars when groups are collapsed in the list view
* BUGFIX: Smartlist entry "Series: Start of Gap" was labeled "Series: End of Gap" in English locale

Quick update to 0.9.135 because of an ugly show stopping bug in the image handling code. I hope this release fixes all the problems.

Additionally I've put some work into optimizing opening/closing/switching eComics when the browser is in full docking mode. As I'm not using this mode, it is always the stepchild of all the user interface modes.

Rest are bugfixes and some small feature enhancements.

As always,
have fun

New toys...for me! =D

Will be thoroughly breaking it in very unexpected ways soon, and post back here.

As always, thanks for your work cYo, and a very special thanks for both the fullscreen while in fill mode and ghostscript changes, will be testing those specially.

From double-clicking a comic on explorer to full viewer is PURE GOLD. Top notch usability change, this will be great with new users coming from other, er, simpler programs.

Also, i can finally open comics full screen from the library without cramping the fingers - another top notch usability change.

Faster usage (when dealing with more than 30k comics), at least from what im experiencing - also very good.

This release is, imho, the best in a very long time.

Haven't found any showstopper yet either :) - i'll look harder

[Edit: And almost forgot, the pdf's i had problems with, are now rendering properly]

When creating smart lists, the Series End Gap shows up twice on the list of criteria, and there is no Start Gap(?) - by the way, how are you supposed to work with these fields? Can you make a list to show the gaps in the series on your library, for example? Is this the purpose of these two fields, or am i missing something?

CHANGE: minimal GUI also hides toolbar in dock=fill

cYo, thanks a lot for this one. But I have one problem: when using the fill mode and opening a comic, the main menu is not hidden. I tried to play with the option "Show main menu if no eComic is open" but it seens not to be working. If browser is not in fill mode the main menu is hidden.

EDIT: I have 2 computers: one running win7 x64 and the other running win7 x32. In the first one the problem occurs. In the second no problem, both things work as expected. I don't know why :(

Yessir... Here I am!!
This release was a long wait, but man! it was worth it. Lets jump down and see what we've got:
* NEW: Setting custom thumbnails for stacks
By far, THE best update for me! :cheer:

Can't seem to get enough of it.. ;)

Next on my agenda are Author icons (will make and post soon):

* NEW: ISBN Number
Appreciated.. (but look also below in the 'thumbs down' section  )
* NEW: Catalog Quicksearch category
Thanks
* NEW: List of open eComics in Page Context Menu
Helpful when more than 2 comics are open at a time (for 2, tab is the best method)
* CHANGE: minimal GUI also hides toolbar in dock=fill
* CHANGE: Toggle Browser toggles minimal GUI when Comic Reader is in separate window/dock=fill
Now all you fullscreen fanatics.. satisfied?
* BUGFIX: Wrong stacking in detail mode
Thanks thanks thanks!!!
* NEW: Added Select All/Reset Background commands to view context menus for comic/page lists
Much needed..

And now the 'thumbs-down' ones
* NEW: Added Collapse/Expand all Groups command to the view menu
* NEW: Double click on the group arrow collapses/expands all groups
Not working properly in that it does not show the scroll bar, so we only get a handful of the entries..

* NEW: Notes field for lists/smart lists (displayed as tooltip
A loooong note makes for a not-so-good view:

* NEW: Support for Statistic Series Values for smartlists and columns
* NEW: Added Position properties to pages (Near/Far) to set anchors for non cover to cover scans
* CHANGE: New aspect ratio for list tiles
* CHANGE: Better Trimming for Date columns
I need more time to understand these.. maybe other users can suggest, how are they using these features..

Also missing are expected metadata fields for number of pages and date purchased / date read in fileless entries.

Please note that selecting multiple comics still displays the ISBN field.. a bug needng fixing

All in all, Dear cYo:

I can confirm the same thing, on different machines i get this as well. In one the menu stays visible, on the other doesn't. The one that hides the menu is a win2k8, the one that doesn't hide it is a win7 x64.

I think the bug is that the menu does not hide automatically with the toolbar. You can press Shift-F10 to show/hide the menu.

I'll fix that for the upcoming bugfix release.
