To say it again: There is only new and old:

* RED: New Comics not Read
* Yellow: Old Comics not Read
* Green: All Comics

You can adjust the value for new: it is "IsRecentInDays" in ComicRack.ini

Sorry to say that this has not been a very stable release for me. I'm trying to do my weekly new comic cataloging and I'm getting intermittent crashes and freezes. Adding comic files, name changing, file deletion have been enough to cause them.

Any smart lists I have where "DC Comics" is the publisher, I often have to open the editor and hit apply for the comics to appear.

The duplicates option is working very fast now, but the sorting is weird. Series names seem to be case sensitive now, as well as sensitive to things like : or -, so issues are no longer under one heading, so I have to look all through the list to find the dupe.

The up/down arrows in details (are these the items called spin buttons? Not sure...), they are helpful, but unattractive when not in use. Maybe only have them appear if the item is actually selected, for instance the number column of an issue?

The gauges are a nice idea, but unless I have a massive monitor they cover up the names of my lists and folders. I wouldn't give up on them entirely though, if I could customize them and choose the amount of them. If I could have one red on that I could set to show me all new comics added in the last 7 days, that might fit and I would use it. I'm not using them now, but if some customization is available in later versions I'll try them out again.

It goes without saying that I'm miffed that NONE of my feature requests, AGAIN, were honored. I don't why I should bother making them if they are just going to be ignored continuously. All right, sorry for surliness, I just needed to get that out.

On the positive side, I REALLY love the new icon feature. I really do. It makes CR look even more professional. I look forward to requesting more from 600, since he's really got the chops at them, and maybe being able to have a character icon option, maybe if Superman is in the Series title or the character listing his icon could appear. The ratings are nice and I wish that ComicVine had them to scrape but I don't think they do.

I also really lover that I can now edit the layout of tiles. I've never really liked seeing file, format and size in tile, and I like being able to change that. This and the icons are the two best additions for me.

I always let CR send crash reports so I'm sure you'll quite a few from me today. Good luck.
... The failure to appreciate... is perfectly understandable, because the readership never evaluates old material in the context of the cultural climate in which it was created, or the state of the art at the time it was created.

Alan, try disabling the gauges from the preferences.

Also have a look at these:
cYo wrote:
Did you try to start a new/empty test configuration with "ComicRack.exe -ac bugtest"?

Does it work when removing/renaming the script folder (so ComicRack runs without any scripts)?

Does it work when disabling query caching and/or backup query update in comicrack.ini?
forkicks wrote:
What causes the crash with the smart lists is pointing them in a "circle", for example, on my example, having Marvel Unread pointing to Marvel 1965-1970. Thats a circular dependency that the program does not know how to handle with the new code. Having lists inside folders could trigger this too.
If these don't work, try posting your problems with all the details here: ComicRack 0.9.138 stability query

Agree with you there....

Again.. a very good option that could be incorporated in the future..

Awww.. c'mon Alan! Keep on making them, and don't worry.. cYo has a secret list where all the requests that can be fulfilled are placed in an order.. maybe your requests are just coming through..:)

I've seen your request, and very soon I'll [post your icons and more..;)

All I did was mark a book as "Unread". Pressing "Continue" worked, but something wasn't happy and it's the first time I've ever seen the error. The book was an unscraped "Warlord of Mars - Dejah Thoris".

To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this

jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging

That's not looking good. However, I suggest you try to reproduce the error, and if you succeed(?), post this in the bugs section where cYo likes these..

Oh that one is nothing. These are all the echos of all the optimizations that went into the list handling code. Fixed in the next release.

But 600, I'm still missing your review of the new Colors Tab (gamma correction), the gap info display in the browser and other stuff (I already forgot again).

And BTW, there's a ComicRack.ini setting to put the rating stars back into the thumbnail (you lose the option edit them though).

Try "Tiles" mode (under the "Views" dropdown).

I have 25,000 comics, with the version 0.9.138 ComicRack was very slow.
I had went back to version 0.9.136.
Someone had the same problem?

Quite the opposite, actually. With 32k comics, 136 was slow when opening lists, and now is almost instant.

I wonder why the new version is producing such different results around the board.
