Has there been any talk about an iPad version as well. I would ditch ComicZeal and snag that in a second if I could.

I must admit, when I saw the paid for app I was surprised and was eager to get it. The price (£4.35) deterred me slightly but then I thought about all the updates on a daily basis pretty much and the level of support on the app as well as the desktop software and I got it - no other application on Android or PC gets the amount of support that CR gets so it's deffo a worthy and wise investment!

But, cYo is one man, and can do one thing at a time. So, I guess it is better to let him have the time to make the Android version to a fully stable and functional, bug-free app. Once he gets satisfied, I am sure he will return to us Windows guys.

This may make some cringe, but perhaps that's when CR should hit version 1.0 for Windows. Pre-1.0 is free with limited support, after 1.0 is not free. It wouldn't be the first company to do that.

Invelos, which started out Intervocative, the makers of DVDProfiler, started with a fully functional free version. The ONLY difference between free and paid was that you had a small advertisement and you couldn't get hi-res cover scans. Over time the free version became more and more limited until it truly became a trial which only lets you add something like 50 DVDs. Still, the price is not outrageous at a meager $29.99usd, but that is a lifetime license with free upgrades forever. It's probably the most popular and successful DVD cataloging software in the world.

No sir, free or not, here on windows, we are supposed to die in beta, while androids start with v1.0

p.s. I'll surely buy the windows version. There is no other option.

Do eeeet! Then you can toss the donation system and let folks use CR Beta without all the fancy stuff or CR Paid with the bells and whistles and top notch technical support, complete with 24 hour hotline. ;)

I'll name two features that would suit well with paid version:

- sync with other windows installations (via wifi and web)
- server/web app to access the library and read comics from the web browser

IMO, no matter whether CR stays free or goes commercial but that'd be the two milestones on the way to perfection.

I recently made up my mind about buying android tablet and decided there is still few years too early for these devices to meet my needs. Mobile phone with Android is another thing but I can't imagine reading to much comics on it (I have tried to do some on my current one - even with 3.2" 480 x 854 screen it's rather painful experience). Nevertheless, thanks for the release. I hope Android version proceeds to develop nice and fast. ;]

IMO, non-LAN network access of any sort should probably be paid only in CR Windows - that includes current remote library functionality.
