Ok. This may be a Windows 8.1 upgrade issue since these are os forms and I've been having problems with the os module in 2.7 anyway
While I didn't completely understand what you said, I just wish to tell that I'm on Windows 8.1 (upgraded from Windows 8).

sorry, just meant my version of Python may not play well with Windows 8.1 and so too might CR's Iron Python version. again, all speculation but I would be interested in hearing if anyone else is running into trouble

Like I said. Did not change anything in the script engine.

Now pushed .175 out the door with some last fixes and forkicks wifi values :)

I am happy to report that setting

WifiSyncReceiveTimeout = 30000
WifiSyncSendTimeout = 30000

on the comicrack.ini fixed the sync problems i was having ("Error during read") while syncing to my android device.

Thanks for adding this.

It's now what? the 3rd network timeout i debugged? The timeout settings should have my name on the .ini file. :)

Can I change and save the export books presets? I want to keep the original filenames in the archive. But if I use the comicrack export to cbz preset and check "keep original filenames". When I come back to that menu on a 2nd export the option is unchecked again.

Or do I just need to make my own preset?

What are the chances of getting "Export Books" as an available script to use in the create combined script creator? I'd love to add a convert to CBZ to my 0-day script.

Installed just fine under win 8.1 here. You need to make sure you quit CR before you install.
