Comic Vine Scraper 1.0.20 is now available.

Version 1.0.20 is identical to version 1.0.19, except it also includes a fix for bug 75.

Lets hope that's the last serious bug for this release set. ;)

Comic Vine Scraper 1.0.19 is now available.

Version 1.0.19 is identical to version 1.0.18, except it also includes a fix for bug 73. I know I said I wouldn't be fixing any bugs while I was out of town, but this was an easy one and RevQuixo put up a freakin' video bug report. How could I ignore that? :) (Thanks for all your help, RevQuixo.)

Comic Vine Scraper 1.0.18 is now available.

I've fixed some minor bugs, added a bit of polish, worked on a few long-term issues, and laid the groundwork for more changes in the future. In particular, release 1.0.18 addresses issues 15, 36, 68, 70, and 71.

Of particular interest:

- the Series and Issues dialogs now have "back" buttons, in case you make a mistake.
- if your series search comes up empty, the script now prompts you to search again.
- the script is better at recognizing when two eComics are from the same series.

As usual, if you find any bugs in the latest release, please report them on the issue tracker (just use your google/gmail login!) or you can post them in this forum thread.

Unfortunately, I'll be out of town for the next few days, so I won't be available to fix bugs (or answer forum questions) until next week. I've done my best to test this release to ensure that it is stable, but if there are any significant bugs that I've missed, you guys will need to roll back to version 1.0.17 until I get back.

Enjoy!

The back button is one of the most important features. Don't let users pay for mistakes :)

Seems like another worthy release!

Looks like the bug-tracking crew is all still here and we'll do our part putting the script through its paces ;)

Uggh...hitting a huge wall with a bug.

If I select a few comics and scrape them the script works fine.

If I highlight a block of say 10 or more, I get a comicrack error which asks me to save a log file..I hit yes and I get:

Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation

...and no error log.

Using latest script and latest comicrack release

@revquixo: I'm getting on a plane in an hour, so I won't be able to do anything about this until next week. :(

I tried scraping a large number of files on my computer, and it works fine for me. Makes me think there must be something about one of the files you are scraping.

Does this happen for any group of ten that you scrape, or is it only for certain comics? If it's possible to narrow it down to a particular set of comics, is there anything about those comics that is odd (their filenames, series names/numbers/volumes?)

When you see this problem, have these comics been scraped before, or are they all new, unscraped comics?

Is anyone else running into this problem?

I've been trying to vary my set of files that I am scraping...I can find no rhyme or reason yet. As of this point it is any group. I'll continue to plug away at it.

Edit: This thing is very unspecific in how it happens :/

If I highlight one issue at a time and select 15, 20 or so...no problem.

If I highlight the same group as a block (by holding down control and then highlighting them) and then running the scrape..I *may* get the error.

I can't reproduce it all the time though...but it is happening consistently...just the causation isn't consistent.
