I think this is a great idea. I have tried several things to prepare for ComicRack in iOS to die and haven't found one that I love yet. I have settled or ubooquity as my server and chunky as the reader but it sorts by title not issue number. it's weird.

Hrm, that's strange. I just bought Chunky a few weeks ago and loaded a handful of comics onto it as a test. I have the Game of Thrones comics on it and they're sorted by issue number. Though I can't verify that that's not incidental as they're the only comics I have on there.

That said, I did just reach out to the developer for Chunky to ask if he'd be interested in some integration features with ComixEd.

You know, I remember now it is only when I was using the "streaming" function without downloading first. It could have been a ubooquity thing because I think comicstreamer did it correctly.

I've done some work and now the ComixEd project is to the point where I feel okay opening it up more to other developers and users to start testing it. The code now has the ability to:
  • import comics from ComicRack
  • Import new comics
  • Show comic details
  • Convert comics from CBR to CBZ
  • Consolidate the comic library to a single directory tree

It's by no means feature complete, nor is it ready to replace ComicRack in your day-to-day lives. But It's got a nice foundation. The main portion I focused on was to get the data model pretty solid so that we can build all of the other features on top of it.

The project's written in Java using Spring. I have some feature goals in mind for it, but would like to get some others involved in the project to get more and different ideas for what we can do.

I've migrated the project to GitHub as well. Please feel free to clone the project and lets get things going.

Can your repo be build? Currently I can't successfully build it. But then again, I have no experience with spring. I tried running the
mvn spring-boot:run
command. Once you feel somewhat comfortable, it would be great if you could release precompiled versions.

From which branch are you running the command? Currently there is only code on the develop branch since I've not had a release yet.

We'll definitely put out releases as executable JARs in future.

I used the development branch. I added the output as an attachment, don't know if it is of any use to you.

Ah, yeah. That's because you need to copy the application.properties-example file in src/main/resources and name the new file application.properties. Then inside of it change some of the settings to reflect your local setup.

I'll need to add these steps to the readme file so it's clear to anybody checking out the code.
