ComicRack requests 256 MB heap on tablets.

Like I said, I think it was on Android 3.0, I could reproduce this.

The problem was IMHO that even when the java bitmap was release, some internal memory got not. So with every page turn the memory was filled further (this can take some time with 256 MB). This is not a problem of CRA but the Android graphics library.

If you're into this, you can actually install the android sdk, connect your tablet to your computer, start logcat and see the messages of the garbage collector releasing memory on every page turn. But when you run into this bug, the total memory allocated is always increasing (and logged).

I am also having this issue. Just tried reading my first comic after a fresh ROM install and every other page was blurry. I am running cm7 (gingerbread) on an HP TouchPad.

I don't remember the last version of CR having this issue.

So i went at this the hard way and fixed it by rooting my device and upgrading the OS to 3.2.1 and no more blurry pages. Just went through around 40 comics and no hint of a problem. Couldn't go over 3 or 4 before without having to force close comicrack.

It's not a comicrack issue per se, but its still annoying for those affected.

Good to hear.

Like I said, Android devices are strange beasts. And the mods the device makers are adding does not make life easier.
