Hmmmmmmm
something odd that I noticed:

My current external sd structure is as follows:
external_sd\! Manga\Ongoing
external_sd\! Manga\Completed
external_sd\! Manga\Dropped

I tell CR to use external_sd\! Manga as the comic folder. Also, Ongoing, Dropped, and Completed all have multiple folders within.
I have also tried renaming ! Manga to just Manga and there is no difference.

BUUUUUUT
If I tell ComicRack to set a folder without subfolders as the main library folder (my test was external_sd\! Manga\Ongoing\A Channel), not only do I no longer have problems with writing to my memory card, but CR can also delete files from within the actual app.

EDIT: To answer your question CYO, no matter what, I seem to not have any issues with the internal SD. No matter how many files, folders, etc, I can always delete files from CR itself, as well as through Filemanagers without write access locking up. It only seems to happen on the external SD.

EDIT2: I also just reinstalled the free version (still have the donate version installed) and it is also giving me the same problems.

EDIT3: I uninstalled the donate version (kept the free installed) and am also still having the problems. So, it doesnt seem like it is JUST the donate version.

Another test.

Make a folder on your external sdcard with sub directories but only put a few cbz in each subdirectory. Set ComicRack to this this folder. Does it work now?

Maybe it is the amount of files...

My test structure is as follows:
external_sd\Test Folder\1\test1
external_sd\Test Folder\1\test2
external_sd\Test Folder\2\test1
external_sd\Test Folder\2\test2
external_sd\Test Folder\3\test1
external_sd\Test Folder\3\test2

Each test1 and test2 folder has exactly 8 comic files in them.
With this structure and setup, there is no problem. When I change the library folder back to its original ! Manga folder (which has 2747 comic files btw), the problem comes back.
So, there seems to be some sort of issue with the number of files in the CR library. I SURE hope that this can be corrected because it would be a pain to have to change the CR library folder often -_-

BTW: I need to go run some quick errands. I will be back ASAP, but I just thought you should know since our responses so far have been pretty much immediate and for a bit, they will be delayed until I come back.

I think it has something to do with the android media scanner. I think he locks the cards while scanning.

Maybe it helps if you rename the .zip files to .cbz.

I'll add an option in the next release to turn off the invoking of the media scanner (this will make problems when using USB sync - so it will be on by default).

(I'm back now)
As soon as you close CR though, the sync should return to normal, right? Any problems that may occur with USB sync should occur while CR is running, right?
I have a shortcut on my homescreen that will trigger a manual media scan, so personally, this wouldnt hurt me much.

An idea though:
What about also adding the ability to add multiple folder locations as the default CR library folder?
In that case, maybe if I added the external_sd\! Manga\Ongoing, Completed, and Dropped folders as three separate library folders, the problem would go away? My thinking is that by doing that, there would be not be one folder with 27xx comics, but 3 folders with smaller numbers.
i dont know.... it was just a thought.

I've put 1.38 into the market.

If your create a file ".nomediascan" in your comic root folder, ComicRack will not initiate a media scan.

When this is turned on, ComicRack only reads and opens file. That is all I can do here.

Hopefully this fixes the issue.

Isnt it .nomedia?
Every folder in my comic collection has a .nomedia file in it because back in 3.0.1, the media scanner would corrupt some of my comics. (I dont know if it would still do it now in 3.2, but I never wanted to take that risk).

Ok, so you have it looking for a filetype that is unique to CR.
Ok then, Ill add some of those suckers to my comic folders then and see what happens

you just need to add it in the root folder (the one you select in ComicRack).
