Was it the comicrack.ini, or was it the config.xml? I didn't see any device sync info in comicrack.ini, but I did find reference to it in config.xml. I copied the device info out of that, but still a no-go.

I copied only the comicrack.ini from the "Program Files" folder, but copied the entire Comicrack folder from %appdata% - so it could well be in the config.xml

Just tried copying the config info from another config.xml from an install on a Win7 machine, and the device shows up now, but won't sync, not even in wifi... sigh

Tried the same thing, with the same result. Weird.

I think I'll transfer my comic collection to my netbook with win7 and just sync from there, until we can find a solution

Here's how I managed to fix this problem on my end.

I unpaired the device.

Then I changed the main comic folder in it.

I then returned it to what it was.

Scan for the device.

Redo your sync.

Hope this works for other people.

I got this idea after I had to reset my iPod because Win8 couldn't read it.

In my case, I already tried all the above, the problem is that CR simply won't see the tablet. Windows, on the other hand, has absolutely no problem, and the same device pairs easily with CRW under win7 - so probably it's something to do with win8 treating MTP differently

I was wondering if anyone had figured out this particular issue concerning USB comic synchronization wint Windows 8 since I seem to be having this problem now too. I have a Sprint Galaxy Nexus so I'm stuck connecting to my computer by MTP only. It was working fine before I upgraded from Windows 7 Ultimate to Windows 8 Pro two days ago so I'm pretty sure that the problem is with ComicRack rather than my setup. I've tried the fixes in this thread and I'm having no luck so I'd be very grateful if someone can help me with a fix.

I'm really enjoying Windows 8 - but it's so frustrating to have to launch VirtualBox just to sync...

I looked into it and MS slightly changed the MTP implementation between Windows 7 and Windows 8. MTP fix will be in the 0.9.157.

I had no problem of any kind setting up and syncing wirelessly. This with a default Windows 8 installation firewall turned on.
