Hi there,

I am developing an app that write ComicInfo.xml file, independently of the Windows ComicRack files, and when I generate a CBR file with the XML file in it, the Window version of ComicRack reads it just fine. The Android version, however does not recognize it.

If I create a CBZ version, with the exact same XML file, ComicRack for Android parses it just fine.

I assume this is just an oversight, and it would be great to see this small, but very useful feature in place.

The app I am developing is here: code.google.com/p/comictagger/

Thanks!

@ComicTagger - I'm loving your idea!!! It's an excellent step in the right direction for standardizing and further developing the tagging of comic book related archive files. Thanks to the OCPD in me I honestly can't wait to check out your Windows package once it's ready! + karma coming your way just for working on this. :)

@oraclexview - thanks! Things are moving along, but I still have some bugs and such to iron out for my initial beta build. I will post something in these forums when the first release is uploaded, probably in a few week.s.

I Just registered to say Thank you!! and Great Work!!! and also You Rock!!!

This works on linux. Note that comicbookinfo tags can have custom kay/value pairs too. You just make up tag and prefix it with "x-", so in theory you could store any comicrack tag in comicbookinfo format too, so no data would be lost.

This is really great effort, thank you so very much. I cannot wait till holidays to try adding cbr->cbz conversion option in there too.

Thanks Sasha! I don't want to clutter up the ComicRack forum with discussion about another app, but come over to the forum for ComicTagger here: comictagger.forumotion.com/ and we can talk features til the cows come home.

Briefly, though, since CT isn't a really *using* the data, I don't want to introduce any new custom CBI tags unless I know that someone is out there reading them. The goal is promote standards, not cause more fracturing by introducing new ones!

Hi cYo,

Regarding the original point of this thread, reading the ComicInfo.xml from CBR/RAR files on Android, have you looked into it at all? Also, hope the iOS version will do this as well.

Thanks!

THANK YOU FOR THIS!!!!

Since cYo refuses to save ALL tags in the ComicInfo.xml this may be my only hope to completely maintain all my info in the book files.
