now this is something I'm not JUST requesting, I'm willing to BUY the developer a OUYA console at launch in return for official support for the OUYA (since it's android already this pretty much entails only supporting resolutions and controllers i would guess, but since i don't have access to the current ouya developer console i wouldn't know for sure)

The main problem would be that the Ouya, for whatever reason, keeps its software library completely separate from everything else that runs Android.

From the FAQ:
Can I play my OUYA games on my other Android devices?
Not at this time.

Can I play Android games purchased from Google Play on OUYA?
No.
So it might be possible to submit it to the Ouya app store, but it would probably disqualify for not being a game.

Though there's always the chance that someone will write a rom that lets it run regular ol' Android.

For the reason that Ouya runs resolutions 720p & 1080p ONLY (not supporting phone and low-res tablet resolutions), as well as being controlled by a controller rather than a touchscreen which is why I'm asking for OUYA support not just to throw it up on the ouya store "As-IS" and Apps are perfectly welcome as you'd know if you paid attention to the OUYA development forums (not everyone does) and I myself am planning to develop some Apps (and games as well) for OUYA.

OUYA's business model is "Open System" Almost everything that can be run on android is welcome to be ported to OUYA. The only disqualifiers [that i've heard of] are copyright violations and offensive content (and i think that's pretty lax as well considering there's a game called "Return of the PedoBear" confirmed for it by the OUYA Team themselves.)

I'd do it myself... but ComicRack is closed source.

I believe ComicRack already recognizes hardware buttons in the key assignment settings, though I guess it would need some tweaks to handle controller input.

just cause it's a niche product doesn't mean it's dead on arrival..

I'm quite enjoying mine and know quite a few people who are enjoying theirs.

It may not be ready for prime time yet, but that's because developers are looking at it in the same way you just did. In anycase with several android consoles coming to market adding controller support (via mappings) would be advisable anyway.
