I absolutely love ComicRack for Android. The #1 reason I use it is for the awesome metadata support.

However, being a Linux user, I do not use ComicRack for Windows. I'd like ComicRack to be able to download Comics from a source other than the Windows app. Not sync, but be able to open and browse comics and then click on one to download. My comics are stores on an Owncloud server, which is Webdav, but are also accessible via https and ssh.

Well, you can also use some third party program that share files between Linux and Android, or some app that use ssh in Android...

In fact, I use "syncronize" app to move my comics between Windows and Android, and not the syncronize of comicrack... (which I find a bit buggy in my case)

Remember comicrack android can also read any kind of format... (but cbt... with of course with my luck is the format I used to use), so you only have to move the comics from your http or ssh server to your comic folder and it works perfectly! (you will have to restart comicrack for the comics to be recognize)

Gonna bump this because I keep everything on a network drive. It's rather difficult to map a Samba share to a folder in Android such that regular apps can access them, it requires a ROM that has support for it and my device doesn't have a custom ROM that has that support. I'd rather the app just be able to natively access comics from a network drive, remote server, or what have you. There's limited space on a phone or tablet, this sort of arrangement isn't all that unusual.
