Please help me sync my Android ComicRack with Windows. Here are all the steps I took to try and sync it:

Just bought the paid version.

Enabled wireless sync on the android.

Connected android to PC's wi-fi (Net is working fine on the device).

Went to ComicRack File-> Synchronize devices.

No response.

I just had the same issue. (Asus Transformer with android 3.2.1, PC with 64 bit Win7)

I then used the USB sync to make sure it was still set up properly (it was), unhooked the USB and ran the wireless sync again, and again got no response. (No error message, no nothing; like I didn't hit the command at all.)

I restarted CR for Windows and tried again and it worked fine. (Other than the fact that CR now doesn't want to recognize as valid a comic I've had on the laptop for over a month. -.-)

Not sure if it just needed a restart or something hung up or what.

ETA: Strange. I went to re-sync it wirelessly once I fixed that odd comic, and again got no response. Restarted CR and tried again, still no response. Hooked the transformer back up via USB, worked fine. Unhooked it, tried wireless, again no response. Waited a few minutes, tried wireless sync again, and it worked. :unsure:

I got the same issue. Everything works fine with the USB sync, but no response with the wifi sync. When i hit the sync devices on the Win PC, the sync icon appears but vanishes in less than a sec...

I just ran the wireless sync and it worked perfectly, so a few stupid questions for you guys having problems:

Have you disabled any firewalls, or allowed CR through the firewall?
Is your device picking up an IP address on the same subnet as your host computer? For example are they both being assigned IP addresses from a 192.168.1.X network?

I know, stupid, but I work tech support and sometimes you just have to ask :)

I disabled both my router and windows firewalls and no effects...
Yep, both the Android and the PC are in the same subnet...
I even tested the Samsung Kies Wifi sync to check if this was a device
problem, but it worked flawlessly...

Not stupid at all! I just double-checked my firewall and CR is set to be allowed. We did have some IP/router issues last night when the roommate set up his secondary network but that was all worked out early this morning, so I know that's not the issue.

In my case, wireless sync has worked at least three times, including the first time I tried it, but with several non-responsive attempts in between the other two. I just tried it again before replying to your post and again got no response. I've never had an issue with the USB sync. (Once I managed to not accidentally disconnect in the middle without realising it, anyway!)

I managed to make the wifi sync to work, but i dont know if it'll keep working. I'll try again later to see if its fixed for good.

I used the wifi analyzer app to see the best wifi channel to put my wifi network. I changed
the wifi channel to the less populated in my area, rebooted both the pc and the android
and when i tried to sync via wifi, it worked.

Will keep trying the wifi sync to see if it will stop working like you said it did.

For now your wireless router must be able to send broadcast messages (which it should do if it is its money worth :)). That is the way on how the android version tells the big windows brother on where to be found on the network.

Just for details: Ports used by the windows version wifi sync are

const int ServerPort = 7614;
const int BroadcastPort = 7615;

(just to get a little hardcore source code for once into this forum :))

I tried wifi sync with the newly released 1.13, but their is simply no response as if ComicRack doesn't recognize the device at all.

I've read many-a cryptic messages from cYo in the past, but this one beats them all. Beyond my senile mind. :P

I hesitate and then I ask again... Er.. How do I know if my wifi router is able to send broadcast messages? :unsure:
