For now your wireless router must be able to send broadcast messages (which it should do if it is its money worth :)). That is the way on how the android version tells the big windows brother on where to be found on the network.

Just for details: Ports used by the windows version wifi sync are

const int ServerPort = 7614;
const int BroadcastPort = 7615;

(just to get a little hardcore source code for once into this forum :))

You must have posted this before, because when I was setting up the NAT rules in my new router I already had these ports recorded from the settings in my old router. Thanks for the reminder!

I found that it was necessary to use the Port Forwarding features on my router, and point ports 7614 and 7615 at the LAN IP address for my Windows PC running Comic Rack.

Then with Comic Rack running on both the Samsung Tablet 10.1 and the PC, I was able to pair devices.

Syncing seems to work only if I run Comic Rack for Android, then start the PC version also, then sync.

I noticed that too. When i turn on my tablet, i need to run for at least one time CR, and then the wifi sync in my PC can do its magic. It would be a good thing if its wifi service would start up with the tablet.

I didn't need to set up Port Forwarding, but my wifi router's firewall is disabled.

ComicRack for Android has to be started and running (can be in the background) for syncing to work. It is for now not an independent service.

Using my Motorola Xoom for wireless sync. Was able to sync 31 books initially but since that first time, Comic Rack for Windows is not recognizing the device at all. Don't know what the problem is, any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'll add something in the version of ComicRack where you can manually add the ip address of the device if needed.

That might be just what I need as I can't for the life of me work out why I can't sync to my device.

Don't take me wrong, but I feel that the Android version (with all the sync troubles) should be the one that deserves a beta tag rather than the ultra-stable windows one. :angry:

I am writing this after trying for days and failing to achieve a fast USB sync, and failing to achieve a wifi sync at all. :(

Thanks for that. I am working on it this am and it is hit or miss with recognizing Xoom. Now when I want to add 1 book via sync, all the other books on the device disappear. ecomics total from 20+ down to 1. Must all books be synced together each time a sync is performed or should you be able to add 1 or 2 books here and there to mobile library?
