Update on comic glass. The last update comic glass has makes it very usable. Using the library organizer you just quickly make a copy to a folder and now comic glass can download a whole list (before it was one comic at a time) so you can use your smart lists then just download the list

Can you give a little more detail on how this works? Like a step-by-step?

Also, does comicglass read the embedded data?

For iOS there's Chunky Comic reader which supports reading of embeded metadata:

itunes.apple.com/us/app/chunky-comic-reader/id663567628?mt=8

Currently just letting MyLar do all the meta tagging but you can also let ComicRack desktop client write that info as well, nice thing about Chunky is that it supports network shares (SMB) or from cloud so can just navigate and selectively sync that way :)

It is a pity ComicRack is not opensource... Now that Cyo is not working on it anymore, other developers could take it from where he left it...

Comicrack is still BY FAR the best comic reader and even one of the best softwares in general I have ever used, it is a pity to see it die slowly when there is still so much potential to improve and change, but well... that's life I guess..

I am at least sure I will use it till my OS can't run it anymore...

As a newer user to CR I have to say that ComicRack, while development may have stopped years(?) ago, there still is nothing out there that I've been able to locate that looks even half as attractive as CR when it comes to features and capabilities. Now that is saying something!

THIS. It is simply the best Comic Reader there is, by a LONGSHOT. I can't imagine using anything else.

I haven’t been using ComicRack regularly for quite some time now. I LOVE THE APP, yet my interest in using it regularly started lessening when my library got so big that the large size of my XML database started affecting the app performance. The desktop app needs a major recoding in the database being SQLite based and being fully integrated to work optimally with a SQLite database structure. The mobile apps also need some cosmetic updates such as working well with newer mobile OS versions. The desktop app needs a few cosmetic updates such as working better with Windows 10 and 4K monitors (not a feature I need any time soon, yet many users need it now). I go back to using CR every blue moon when I get a major craving for comic reading, yet the issues I run into with having a large XML database eventually kill things for me every time. Even with these complaints though, I still find myself coming back to the Rack experience because there just isn’t a better app experience out there. Nuff said!

Had the same issues with xml and moved to mysql - despite the limitations is way better and more responsive. The move was painless - it might be worth giving it a shot.

Is there a tutorial somewhere on how to do this?

I think I used this:
comicrack.cyolito.com/dokuwiki/doku.php?...ng_a_shared_database

You need to have the mysql installed already.

I am managing 105000 Comics at the moment, I can assure you it it waaaay faster than xml.
with no power comes no responsibility. except that wasn't true
