Well, Apple made it official today. iOS 11 will not run 32 bit software/apps. That means goodbye Comicrack iOS if you upgrade iOS or Comicrack doesn't get recompiled. They have been saying this for a year now so no surprise.

And they are going to begin removing 32 bit apps from the App Store as well.

For an opportunity to fix some LONG standing bugs? Put me down for €25!

But, seriously, we've got a lot of people here wanting to help fix and improve; why not just allow them?

Hey Dancer... there is an official ComicRack iOS and Android app but they are almost as "outdated" as the desktop app now... meaning they don't get updates any more, and lack features that other apps do have. If you want to read your library on a tablet, I recommend Comic Glass, which makes it very easy to do. There is also Chunky, which has a couple ways to connect to your desktop library, but not as elegantly as Comic Glass. Is that what you were looking for?

On a side note... I would be interested to hear if anyone in this thread has started production on a new comic library organizer, or if it is just in the discussion phase still. Just curious as to what projects are out there.

I have both the android and the ios app and I love it. I think it has more features than any other app I have. I can use my smartlists from comicrack and sync them to the app. I can sort by publication date etc. Currently I have been trying other apps and sure they can read comics and work ok but i have manually load them onto my ipad.

I have not found anything even close to the feature set of comicrack. Yacreader is a joke by comparison. It would take me 10 years just to scrap my comics.

Ok, sounds good... I guess I'm not exactly sure what you were looking for in your first post.

With so many people making it clear they would pay for it to be fixed, or even offering to take over it themselves... what a waste.

Tis the end. I do most of my comics reading by iPad so don't think I'll be using comicrack reader in the future. It's an unfortunate end to an interesting app and thriving community. :(

I think people are just sad that a great app is getting tossed to the side instead of letting the community work on it. Right now there are a few bugs even with syncing on the Android app I have found and problems with Chromebooks being able to be found to sync. Also the forums are being swamped with bullshit adds. How can we start promoting people to work through these issues is a better question to ask then is the app and community dead.
