Version number? What's in a number? But seriously, I'll put that in my todos.

Well the reason I ask is that I apparently had multiple versions installed and I don't know which one was actively running..and when I installed version 1.08 apparently it wasn't the version I was seeing in the task tray. In fact, I'm not quite sure I was even running version 1.07...even though I installed it.

I agree with RevQuixo 100%. Infact, I was myself going to ask for the version number, but he beat me to it! ;)

Beginning version 1.0.8, comic cache has become very 'talkative'. It gives notifications for every comic it is pulling the screens from. This gets very distracting at times. :(

I would like an option in preferences to turn the notifications off.

This may seem like a stupid question, but should ComiCCache save its settings after being shutdown? Mine never has under any version.

I'm using Windows Vista 32bit installing in the default directory.

Absolutely, it should. Try stopping then uninstall. Then reinstall be sure to check run at start. Make your configuration click save. The configuration should be saved in an XML file. Will continue to investigate.

Here is what is in the comiccache.exe.config which is the only xml file in teh directory that I can see:

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<configuration>
<startup><supportedRuntime version="v4.0" sku=".NETFramework,Version=v4.0"/></startup></configuration>

I've saved my settings..but nothing ever appears in the config file.

The configuration information is not stored in the default config file but in a separate .xml file.

Worked hard to figure out what this problem may be. Moved where the config is located to keep from running into permissions problems. Now in C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\ComicCache. Should give errors when it is saving the config. Please try version 1.0.10.
