Comicrack now crashes on startup. It is always at the same point, ie when initial splash screen reads "opening files"

I'm using latest version 0.9178. Using windows 10

Was working fine a week ago

I've changed nothing though windows did update recently, not sure if this update caused the issue as I think it was working after the update

I've uninstalled and re-installed and rebooted several times with no luck, including deleting the database. I've deleted the "cyo" as advised in anothe rpost. Still nothing

At a loss for what to do
Thanks in advance

Windows 10 Creators Update breaks Hardware Acceleration in ComicRack.
Preferences → Reader → Hardware Acceleration → Uncheck "Enable Hardware Acceleration" → Restart ComicRack.

I'd uninstalled already before I found this info. I reinstalled and now it won't even open. I'm sad because ComicRack is the best reader I've found.

I can't get Comic rack to start up to reach the settings. Is there another way to access the settings, is there a file I can edit?

I uninstalled again and reinstalled with my anti-virus shut off. After that it would open. You might give that a try.

1. Rename Config.xml to Conifg.bak
%APPDATA%\cYo\ComicRack\Config.xml
2. Delete Config.xml
3. Open ComicRack

That file doesn't exist

I have a backup folder (I renamed cYo to cYobak), there's a Config.xml file in that folder but not in current in use "cYo" folder

Thanks for trying

I suspect the hardware acceleration issue is not my issue?

I have the same problem. I can't get into the options to turn of hardware acceleration because it crashes before I can do anything. Surely there is a way to disable hardware acceleration inside a config file? It's gotta be stored somewhere right? Coudln't find it in Config.xml though.

EDIT: See next answer.
