Hello,

I'm using winRAR and since i reinstalled windows i can't seem to make a readable zip file. When I unzip it, it unzips fine but zipping the folder to read in either comic rack or comic apps on my phone they don't work.

I right click on a folder with my jpegs inside > add to archive > rename to "Issue1.cbr"> ok.

But when i try to open the file in comic rack it gives me a white X with red background. I feel like maybe its a winRAR setting but I have no clue. I've tried with previous comics I already downloaded as well and have worked using this method before my re installation but don't work this time around.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

the default format for winrar is now RAR5 which isn't supported by ComicRack. I've been seeing a lot more incompatible cbr files recently which is why I necro-responded to this post: comicrack.cyolito.com/forum/9-feature-re...ing-of-rar5-archives

Your best bet is to use 7zip and the zip format (CBZ).

Awesome I'll try it out, thanks!

What is the best way to mass convert foldered Jpegs to cbz? Like if i have 150 issues of a series, going 1 by 1 is crazy.

If the folders are all subdirectories and you don't have a bunch of other junk in the folder it's a one-liner. Well, two-liner to change the extension.

www.wikihow.com/Use-7Zip-to-Create-Multi...ed-Folders-in-One-Go
for /d %%X in (*) do "c:\Program Files\7-Zip\7z.exe" a "%%X.7z" "%%X\"
ren *.zip *.cbz

EDIT: my bad, that example shows using 7z archive format. I think you just need to add a -t zip to specify zip instead (or just use *.cb7 as the extension.. ComicRack speaks 7z too).
