Is it possible to have a script that removes a given set of characters from a field?

Example: Let's say you have a mess of comics, many different series...some from the same series. You are getting ready to scrape them and you know that the ones that have "02 covers" or "scanned by" after the series name will not scan. Makes it easier to scan if you remove the "02 covers" or whatever. Easy enough if they are all the same series but if they aren't it's a nightmare. Is it possible to have a script that finds what ever term you give it and remove it from series names?

Mystic Comics 70th Anniversary Special 02 covers
New Avengers 02 covers
New Exiles 02 covers

Becomes

Mystic Comics 70th Anniversary Special
New Avengers
New Exiles

Then scan.

I would use either of the following options (neither quite what you asked):
  • PRIAT --> script that allows to use RegEx to assign values to different fields
  • external program (e.g. BulkRename) to fix the names before even importing in comicrack

Example with PRIAT (which I think is correct but have not tested)
(?<Series>.*) 02 covers
The above regex would assign everything before " 02 covers" to the Series field

A third option is probably with DataManager which would actually be able what you asked (search for a specific term and remove it) but I suspect that's more effort than either of the other two options.
