TOPIC: Cloud Storage Support

Cloud Storage Support 5 years 3 months ago #24822

With the Nexus7 being your fastest growing device, and the limited storage space contained within (8/16GB) it would be awesome if the paid version (which I just bought  ) offered cloud storage support for at the very least Google Drive, but also DropBox, Amazon Cloud (for those Fire users) and the like.

What I mean here is ACTUAL READS from Cloud Storage, not "Sync" support (i.e. Downloading and storing to device memory), as there are already programs that allow you to "Sync" and that would do nothing to help save space on the device. So basically, the only time the CBR/CBZ/ETC would touch device memory is during the read of the file.

Cheers!

I keep looking at the development of the Google drive API. If it supports reading stuff directly from the cloud, I'll add it :)

Are you saying "I don't know if it does," "it does," or "when it does?"

He's saying he'll have to look into it, and if it's possible he'll add it. (This would be a concern with the API - namely, does it allow you to treat cloud storage like any other drive)

This would be awesome, I'm already a heavy user of Drive.

Something similar to what ComiCat does would be amazing, just done better. ComiCat is good, but just misses the mark, Comicrack with google drive would be so much better!

In short, if you had access to view you entire library on google drive (thumbnails, meta data etc), and then had the ability to select issues to Sync to the device/stream the issue ie it downloads to the device as your reading or even be able to set parameters for sync.

Aside from the requests, Comicrack is still my favorite reader by far!

Yeah, since more and more unlimited space storage is becoming available to the general public. I think it's time you started thinking in this direction. I will be backing up my entire collection in Amazon Cloud Storage. It would be nice to be able to upload directly to Amazon from my comicrack desktop client and browse these comics / reading lists / ... on my android tablet client.

I think if you keep on forgetting about online storage, you'll be missing out on a major functionality.
