Basically, I'd just like an option to start ComicRack when Windows starts, and an option to start ComicRack minimized to the System Tray.

My usage of CRfW is typically to have it running in the tray at all times, and open it up when I want to add/sort/edit comics, sync to my tablet, or read a comic directly. I do this because CRfW's idle memory footprint in negligible and I'd rather not wait through the startup process every time.

You can just put a shortcut in the Startup programs group if you want it to autostart, but I don't know offhand of a way to get it to auto-start *to the tray* without getting AutoHotKey or something involved. Might be nice to have that added, yeah.

(I would point out that that 'negligible memory footprint' can sometimes balloon if you have a lot of books - I don't remember the last time mine was under 500MB, which admittedly still isn't that bad but it's bigger than most anything else that runs 24/7)

I came here too Googling for why I cannot start in Tray or even Minimized (changing startup shortcut doesnt work).

As I run CR as a server I'd like this.. and I also want to use the web comic plugin so I dont need to see CR but need it running... AHK would be a kludge! :dry:

* Enable "Minimize to system tray" in Settings/Behavior.
* Minimize
* Right click the icon in the tray and click "close".

Next time ComicRack starts it will be minimized in the tray.
You can also turn off the splash screen in behavior.

Thanks so much for such a quick and helpful response. I reckon I won't have any excuse not to donate once I have my web server of comics up and running. V happy thanks!

I disabled splash and set both close and minimize to do to the notifications area (tray) but it doesn't seem to like to do so... I am running CR in portable mode if that helps. On a server reboot I still get CR open and scan for books and stay open :-(

EDIT: I donated and did it again and it seems to have stuck... Either way (if donation or doing again fixed it) I am happy.
