I know you say that some fields don't make sense outside the library and therefore you don't save them to files. But Release Dates is something that is a constant, the date a book is released will always be the same (unless some nutjob cuts loose and inputs some outlandish or inaccurate info in his ComicRack Database, but its the risk you run hen sharing files that you have to fix what some other person thinks a value should be).

So can i/we at least get this value saved to the file. This one does make sense in the context you've described in other posts.

Currently release date is a collection value (right with store etc.).
So it is not saved to the eComic.

Well it really shouldn't be, as the date a book is released will ALWAYS be the date that book is released (even if it is a reprint then the reprint has it's own date as well), but I'm not going to argue this, it'll get me nowhere.

Tell me again why people prefer released date over published date? Does it really make that much difference?

same reason people like chocolate over vanilla, or elbow over penne, or healthy chicks over beanpoles... personal preference.

If you wish to organize your books as zero-days, then you can only do it by the release date.

and release days are more honest.

Almost every DC and Marvel Comic I own is Released almost two months prior to it's "publication date"

And I think it's a more precise way to sort the comics than the Published method in the Tips and Tricks.

And because there is no scraper plug-in for the release date (at least I can't find one), it's a lot of work to set it to every comic (I'm working on the New 52s for days now), so I think it would be great if we could save it to the file.

edit: Sorry, by the way, hi all, I'm new here. :)

Hi ,

the Comic Vine Scraper, latest version also scrapes the Release Date, so if you save your info to the comic book files it also saves the Released Date which gives you the exact month day and year
