It has nearly been a year since this was requested. Has there been any progress made to implement this?

I can't speak for the developer, but there's a few things you should know:

1) ComicRack's development has never been quick, but it's slowed to a crawl.

2) The author has stated that he thinks that ComicRack is, in his opinion, pretty much feature-complete at this point.

3) The author does not take requests for features to be implemented.

At this point of the game your only option is to root or use something like ES File Explorer to access your network shares.

Thank you. I was considering buying the full version, due to the fact that there seems to be no documentation on what is locked and what is not, hoping that the full version would be easier to work with. Completely wrong reason to be buying something and you saved me the trouble. Thanks again!

Just for clarification purposes, the only feature that's unlocked by purchasing the mobile version is wireless syncing. Otherwise, the free version functions identically to the paid version.

Well.
The fulfilled feature requests in this forum beg to differ.
Reading over the network has some inherent problems that make implementation difficult (especially library sizes).

I will take your word for that & humbly apologize for the mistake. I'm now looking forward to the implementation of some of the many feature requests that are still unfulfilled in the forum for all three platforms.

Ubooquity's use of OPDS has pretty much nailed it for me. Even though my tablet library is pointed to my WAN IP, when I'm home it hits that IP in my router and comics load nearly instantly.

Does library size become an issue for you after a certain size, or are you having issues reading the size of a library? I've got 2500 comics in mine and they all populate so far.

Access to a network share is what most look forward this application.
My collection is stored on a NAS and the android application can not access it, having to copy the entire library to the device is the end ....
Keep your PC switched on to access the library also is not very green.
No need to organize the library through the android device, focus it on the PC, I just read the HQ in android.

Sorry, I was supposed to be posted in the section of android feature request ...

I went over to Challenger Viewer, recommended by Ubooquity, and it's able to view my library that is stored on my NAS while at home or away.
It's been fantastic so far!
