I'd like to be able to sort by more than one column. For instance, Volume as the primary sort order and then Number as the sort order within a Volume value.

If I understand what you're asking, you can already do that - clicking \"Series\" in the sort column (not the sort thingie with the arrow on it) should do it.

Sure, you can sort by one column and you can change the sort column by clicking on either that sort select box or the column header. What I would like is the ability to sort by volume, hold the shift key, and click on the number column header. At that point, I should see all volume 1 books at the top sorted by number with all volume 2 books beneath the volume 1 books sorted by number. I'm not talking about groups, I'm talking about sorting by more than one column within a group.

For a great example of this functionality, you can check out the files tab within the uTorrent client. Clicking on Priority sorts the list of files for a torrent. Holding shift and clicking on the % column then sorts WITHIN each priority by percentage complete. All the 100% complete files will be sorted to the bottom of a section of a priority.

Like was said before, I believe you can already do that. The first criterion is considered a grouping, the second is considered a sorting.
Do not rebuke a mocker or he will hate you;
rebuke a wise man and he will love you.
Instruct a wise man and he will be wiser still;
teach a righteous man and he will add to his learning.

Let me illustrate what exists:
Screenshot: Group by Series, Sort by Volume

Screenshot: Group by Series, Sort by Number

And this is what I'd like to be able to do. I composed this image and it is not a screenshot:
Group by Series, Sort by Volume, Sort by Number

I replaced the embedded images with links to the images so everyone should be able to see what I'm talking about now.

IMHO, there's no system that will sort it like 1, A01, 2, A02, 3, A03.. etc. Annuals will go to the end. (But for me it would not a problem.)

Anyway I support this idea, ComicRack should have let's say 3 sorting options (like MS Excel), at least in the list display.

The issue also come up if you want to order your comics by the publication date. If you order it by year, months won't be in order and vica versa.

Minor quibble ... if you look at the screenshot showing grouping by Series and sorting by Number, you'll see that ComicRack sorts these items into the order [ 1, A01, 2, A02 ]. The first and second image I posted links to are live screenshots. I just made my composite image consistant with the existing sorting method, which I like.

THANKS cYo!

You are right. I only checked the last picture. But I still don't see the logic behind. Does it take into account only numbers and no other characters or what?

Btw thanks for doing multi-sort, cYo!
