ComicRack for the iPad released

Welcome to ComicRack for the iPad!

With this app you can read your comics wherever you are, however you want.

As a member of the ComicRack family it has all the features that make a great comic reader. Multiple display modes, auto scrolling, automatic removal of page frames, color adjustments and smart double page display are just a few of these features.

Together with ComicRack for Windows you can effortlessly sync your comics with WiFi to your iPad. For example you can create reading lists and only sync the unread books to your tablet. With optional smart on the fly optimizations you can save up to 50% of space on your iPad without a big hit in visual quality.

The library has been designed to make it very easy to browse your collection that may consists of 100s of books. You can group and stack your comics by series, story lines and authors (if this data is available).
The library even remembers where you last stopped reading and with a quick tap you can continue where you left off.

You can read more here or go straight to the app store :)

And they came to this conclusion even without actually using the nice sync feature (USB and wireless) :)

The next version of ComicRack for Android has a new way of detecting ComicRack for Windows in a WiFi network (and not only the other way round - like it is currently). This release implements the Windows side of this new feature.

ComicRack 0.9.168 released

This is a maintenance release that fixes the inability to pair with wireless devices on Windows XP. I added some additional fixes and small changes you can find as usual in the file description.

0.9.167 Torrent Download Fixed

I just learned that the Torrent for 0.9.167 was just visible for me.

I fixed that now.
I uploaded the torrent again and fixed the link in the last post.

ComicRack 0.9.166-167 released

Update: .167 fixes an issue in the Smartlist Editor introduced in .166

This is a mix of maintenance and new features.

First it fixes a big and ugly bug introduced with 0.9.164 regarding thumbnail updates. One of the visible effects in ComicRack was that pages/thumbnails where not updated/displayed correctly. You should update to this version.

I also did some rewrite of the Matcher Selector in the Smart List Dialog. With now over 90 possible Matchers the old Drop Down Box was just not doing it any longer.

Finally, as Microsoft in it's wisdom removed the OS Touch Flick support from Windows 8 (Windows 7 translates these gestures automatically into Page Up/Down), I've now implemented Flick Left/Right support for the Reader myself. Please note, that the Flick gestures are only active when the whole page is visible.

ComicRack 0.9.164-165 released

This is quite a big release.

As I rewrote lots of low level stuff I would not be surprised if some bugs are still lurking in it. If you've problems you can always step back to the previous version (but not before submitting the problem and posting in the bugs section of the user forum :))

Big features in this release are Custom User Values with full support in the browser, dialogs and script API and support for moving your ComicDb on a shared SQL server.

Additionally I added another CBR/CBZ/CB7 engine that can be selected with new settings in ComicRack.ini.

UPDATE: I uploaded 0.9.165 that fixes two bugs.
