New ComicRack for Android Version
After many promises and more delays I've finally pushed the new version for Android to the market.
If everything goes well, the new release of ComicRack for Windows is only a few days away.
A few days delay
There will be 2-3 days delay with the new release. I still have to test the Android version on some more devices, as the whole library and list management was rewritten to introduce the horizontal list swiping.
The problem with the Play Store is, that if there's a problem, people can not step back to the previous version like they can with with ComicRack for Windows. And with about 60000 active installs, I always get a little nervous when pushing a new verisons.
As ComicRack for Windows depends on the new Android version, it is also delayed.
to run ComicRack for Android on one of these.
Also I'm currently working on updates to CRA with optimizations for 7 inch devices (Nexus) and some other improvements. The new CRW build will include enhancements, icon updates and a feature to hide issues from smart lists.
These updates should all be available at the weekend.
ComicRack 0.9.156 released
Finally the long promised new ComicRack for Windows build.
This build makes it much easier to edit sync settings for lists and folders with direct pop-up commands. Also the smartlist editor has been optimized and enhanced with a new collapse group feature, which makes editing complex rules sets simpler.
As usual there are some bug fixes and various enhancements in the mix. For a full list of changes check out the description for the download.
UPDATE: There was a small problem with the inital upload. If you've downloaded this version in the first hour after release and run into stability problems, please redownload.
That is the number of total page views this site has passed during the current week.
I still remember posting about the first version of ComicRack in some no longer existing comic forum a few years ago (you can download a copy of this version here)
I think this number is quite remarkable for a small tool that always just competed on the mere merits of its quality and never had any backing with ads or campaigns. And still, if you search for "best comic reader" in Google, there's a good chance that ComicRack comes up first :)
So I want to say thanks to you, the users of ComicRack, that made the program what it is today with your ideas, your feedback and your donations.
And btw, there will be a new ComicRack for Windows release this weekend :)
This graph shows the device install count of ComicRack (Paid).
Green is the Asus Transformer, blue is the Transformer Prime and red is the Acer A500. The orange line is the new Nexus 7. In 3 weeks the Nexus 7 almost managed to take the 2nd spot.
This is what I call a successful device launch :)
The next versions for ComicRack (Windows and Android) are still in the making. But as I managed to break my finger playing football last week there will be some delay.
The new builds will among other things include new features for syncing, enhancements for Jelly Beans and the usual bag of bugfixes.
