Well, it doesn't work, does it? Or maybe I'm just unlucky...

I remember this button, however I can't even find it now.

Select the list, copy and paste (Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V)?

That works. Wasn't there a button for this at some point tho? Above the list. I might be remembering wrong, I think they were revering to this button (that I might have imagined)

The duplicate list button is something different than copy/paste a list.
It builds a new smartlist out of your current settings (quick search, search browser). If you did not make any changes, it does not create a new list. |

Ok, found it, wasn't where I remembered it being.
So, it will only make a new list if there are changes? Uncommitted changes? I'm not sure when this button/feature would be used or in what situations. Confirming it works however. It isn't broke. Click a list, type something in the quick search, if any comics show up, click the button and you will get a new list with the same name in the Temporary Lists folder following the rules of the list PLUS whatever was in the quicksearch. I'm seeing where this feature could come in handy actually. Think maybe it needs a new name however. "Duplicate current list" while quite literal in what it does (it is indeed duplicating the current list, the current list as it is NOW with the quicksearch filtering it) read as misleading, unless you just happen to know how it works. Not that I have a suggestion on what it should be named either. Let the brainstorming commence! |

yes the name may not be the best. Maybe someone can give a better one.
But this feature is actually quite sophisticated (padding my shoulder It also takes the Search Browser filter in account. So it is a quite handy way to quickly create filters for series, writers etc. (maybe a tip in the manual |

Yeah, I'm seeing all sorts of uses for it now. It's pretty darn nifty.
Maybe even just changing the tooltip to read "Duplicate current list (with current filters)" or something like that would work better. Maybe not that exact naming, but something like it. "Duplicate current list" is exactly what it does, so I'm at a lose at how else to name it, and can see why you named it the way you did. I never used this feature before because I never saw a use in just simply duplicating a list (I always used copy/paste for that function) |

Oh, yes. Great feature indeed. Naming is a little misleading. Hm, maybe: "Create SmartList with current filters".
Now, I tested it a bit. It takes into account Search Browser, QuickSearch and options in Views (read/not read/reading/duplicates). Just wow! ;] One small issue: QuickSearch filters (Series/Writer/Artists/Descriptive/Filename) are not respected - it creates SmartList that searches in "All" fields instead. |
