Hello.

Im a recent user, already bought the software because its a great organizer for my digital collection.

Now, im trying to sync between 2 computers, where in one ("Reader") I just read them
(and therefor would like to update the Read status).

So, I'm using the most recent version 0.9.125 (32bit) on both computers.

I've shared the library (100 GiB), the "Reader" computer can see a list but keeps asking me for a password.

I've tried sharing with or without passwords, several restarts, and nothing. It always keeps asking for passwords.

Is this some bug (since I've defined without password sometimes it should not ask for them)?
Could this be firewall related? I've allowed traffic, and since i see the Library shared on the "Reader", it strikes me as a different kind of problem.

Could this be related to the new version or am i just daft and forgot something basic?
Is there a limit on password lenght, for example?

More info:
Like refered on other posts, its the same user (and also password) on both computers.
Reader is Win7 Home, Server is Win7 Pro (could be some restriction of Win 7) ?

An alternative, is: can i share the settings between both computers?
I just really need to update the status of the comics. I dont really need to use the software concurrently on both pcs...

Thanks for reading.

Note: the software correctly adds the lock icon to the library whenever i configure password protection or not, but still asks for password when i click it!
argh!

Try to make completely new Shared Library and don't set up password there. If it still asks you for password then I don't know what next.

Hm... you could use dropbox or similar service to share your Database and Setting folder, and then point this folder on the second computer as a database source (in ComicRack.ini file). This should work, but if both CR instances are running at the same time I expect some problems could occur. I don't know, make database backup and play with if for a while. See how it works.

Ok, I've tried something based on the possibility that the OS is intervening.
I know Win is recently (since Vista) frowning upon empty passwords maybe that's the reason?

I've set up a library share with a long password using numbers and letters.
And it worked! Now, is it just voodoo ?

Can anyone else confirm this?
I'll keep testing...
