I am trying to write a script that copies a comic from my external storage device to my laptop. I can get the comic copied to a folder on the computer but I am wondering if there is a way to add that comic to the library without having to run folder scan?

Also how can I add a tag "Temp" or something to the resulting comic?

Have you tried just using the "Folder" tab? This is a Windows Explorer type of control that allows you to navigate to an arbitrary folder. All the eComics will be displayed and you can add them by right clicking on the files and selecting "Add to library". Then you can right click on them again, select "Get info..." and set the tag for all of them at once.

The folder tab is between the "Library" tab and the "Pages" tab in the browser view.

Sorry if this wasn't helpful, but it's a way to accomplish what you are looking to do without scripting.
