TOPIC: Create Combined Script
Create Combined Script 1 year, 11 months ago #5891

So this is a script I wrote a while ago for myself, but never got around to getting it to release quality until now.
There are so many useful scripts here that I got tired of running script after script on comics. This script creates a new script that simply runs several scripts one after the other on the selected comics. It has a selection form that allows you to select that scripts you want and put them in the order you want. It should be compatible with almost all the scripts here. The only script I know that doesn't work is perezmu's Import ComicVine info script. However, cbanack's ComicVine scraper does work. As usual it is package manager ready. Find it in the File->Automation menu.

Thanks Stonepaw, that's a great idea... !!
i installed it, but since I use only cbanack's CVS and the weekly releases scripts, I couldn't use it further. |

I never got around to fix it, and now it seems unnecesary, given the gorgeous scraper script! I will ask cYo to have it removed from the downloads section altogether to avoid new users try it and get disappointed. (I am thinking of a new script, though, to deal with duplicated issues...) |

I haven't tried the script yet but if it does the following I'd be sold:
1) runs the convert to cbz option 2) runs ComicVine Scraper 3) runs the "renamer" script that is built into CR 4) update eComic issues (writes the xml data into the comic) I know some of these aren't "scripts", but that's my process. |

What are your preferred scripts ? I run ComicVine Scraper, perezmu's ScannerTagsFromName(slightly modified), SaveTagsToNotes, and then oraclexview's Organize Library Files & Folders 2.0(again slightly modified). I guess that is only four scripts but I am a lazy guy and it speeds up cataloging new aquistitions if I can run them all at once. @perezmu: It had something to do with how it runs in another thread or something, but any scripts that where set to run after it wouldn't wait for your script to finish before running. @RevQuixo 1) runs the convert to cbz option Sorry, but I don't think that this is callable from a script. It would be neat if it could be though.2) runs ComicVine Scraper Easily3) runs the "renamer" script that is built into CR Yep4) update eComic issues (writes the xml data into the comic) If you have the option ticked in prefrences, it should be done automatically. Otherwise I don't know if that function is callable from a script but it would be great if it could be though. |

Great work Stonepaw! I'm mos def going to keep this sweet script in mind when/while making new scripts. Yet another contribution that I feel deserves some karma.

Like 600WPMP0, I most often only use the Comic Vine Scraper and the New Release scripts, but this is a great idea, and will definitely be useful to many.
