TOPIC: Storylines/runs I Just Love!
Storylines/runs I Just Love! 1 year, 10 months ago #6377

I figured I'd start a thread about the storylines/runs that captivated me over the years.
That's just off the top of my head. As you can see, I was a big fan of artist more than writers when I first started with comics. Though, I loved the writing during those runs just as much. I just just can't remember the spelling of most of the writers. |

Moore's Supreme brought me back to Comics after my childhood days
It was in the short heydays in the mid nineties when American Comics where actually SOLD in stores here in Austria... In the mainstream I usually like whenever Morrision, Ellis or the master himself MILLAR (anyone remember his Authority run Just now Millar's run on Ultimate Comics: Avengers brought a smile to my face. That's how I like super hero comics. Bad ass and intelligent, but still with action. |

One of my all-time favorite storylines was the "Siege of Avengers Mansion" by Roger Stern, John Buscema and Tom Palmer from Avengers #273-277 back in 80's.
There are a ton of other great ones, but as a kid, that one just blew me away. |

I can think of tons, including several that have already been mentioned.
I absolutely have to single out Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane, though, because IT NEVER GETS ANY LOVE. D: |

There were two 4 issue limited series (Mary Jane and Mary Jane: Homecoming) and then the ongoing, which ran for 20-something issues. (There was another 5 issue limited last year but it was HORRIBLE, sadly.)
It's uh...think Spider-Man meets generic high-school sitcom. It's stupid and childish as a concept but Sean McKeever's writing is sooooo good that it's very readable no matter who you are. And it's a nice change of pace from RAWR EXPLOSIONS GODS ALIENS KABOOM |
